Help Your Team Overcome Negative Thinking
One challenging obstacle many organizations face today is helping their employees and team members overcome “negative” thinking. Let’s face it, with a flood of bad (negative) news, it’s no wonder some experts claim that as high as 90% of a person’s thinking is “negative.” Unfortunately, many people are drawn to the sad state of affairs of bad news and information that sometimes borders on the verge of tragic. Even the turmoil and chaos of celebrities like Charlie Sheen tend to gather the most visited or read articles on Fox News, CNN, etc. It’s no wonder that negative thoughts and discouraging events can take priority in our daily lives.
So how do you motivate your team to look past the negative thinking that tends to flood their minds, and move toward a more uplifting, positive attitude? In one of my recent sales meetings I produced for www.EasySalesMeetings.com
(and available on my CD-ROM – Volume I – Easy Sales Meetings) I discuss 20 ways to overcome negative thinking from Donald Latumahina. Mr. Latumahina gives us some excellent ways to battle and overcome negative thinking. Here are three of his suggestions to overcoming a negative attitude:
- Realize tat you only hurt yourself with negative thoughts. Don’t let them trick you.
- Decide that you will live your day with happiness and not let negative thoughts steal
it. - Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I’m a positive person. I won’t let negative
thoughts control me. I’m a winner in life.”
All 20 of Mr. Latumahina’s tips are available with this meeting along with several other ideas to help your team members battle the negative attacks on their minds. I remember growing up as a kid listening to Zig Ziglar, and his comment to this topic, was avoid the stinking thinking. I agree, maintaining a positive attitude is important for your team members and your organization.
